Attend the State Board of Education Community Forum on March 11 at Pioneer

The Washtenaw Alliance for Education, an alliance of Washtenaw County’s education leaders that includes Superintendents and School Board members that serve to advocate for public education, is hosting a community forum featuring our State Board of Education President, John Austin.  Joining him will be fellow SBE member Eileen Weiser.   The purpose of this forum is to share upcoming education reform legislation initiatives that impact everything from what can be a school to how they are funded.  This is a panel format where there will be extensive opportunity for community members to share their ideas, concerns and ask questions of our SBE members.  Each SBE member will have an education leader joining them in the panel.  We have confirmed that Peter Ruddell will be joining Eileen Weiser.  I will update this post when we have confirmation of the other panelist.

Please join us for a stimulating discussion and to share your views with our SBE members.  These forums were initiated by John Austin as a way to gather community input as well as sharing what is likely to come before legislators this year.  We will have material ready for attendees regarding how to stay involved and informed in the future of public education in Michigan.

Date:  March 11, 2013

Time: 6 – 8 PM

Location: Little Theater, Pioneer High School

Address:  601 W Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI  48103

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Thank you to John Austin for initiating these forums.  Thanks to Eileen Weiser and our other panelists for joining to make for an excellent panel.
